Vanessa Joy Anacta is a geographer whose research contributes to the fields of Cognitive and Behavioral Geography, Geospatial Technology, Hazards and Vulnerability Research, Geographic Education, and GIScience, among others. She has conducted research in Germany, with a particular emphasis on wayfinding, and is currently undertaking similar studies in the Philippines. She published several articles in international journals and taught a variety of geography courses at the university level. Aside from her commitment to teaching and research, she also extends her professional services to the public by engaging in the department’s extension initiatives, which include handling field school and offering training in the application of geospatial technologies, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), to educators and interested organizations (government and non-government).
