Revitalized General Education Program
The Revitalized General Education Program (R.G.E.P.) of the University of the Philippines replaced the old General Education Program (G.E.P.) in 2003. The RGEP subjects, which are required in all bachelor programs of the University, aim to broaden the students’ intellectual and cultural horizons, foster their commitment to nationalism balanced by a sense of internationalism, cultivate their capacity for independent, critical and creative thinking, and infuse a passion for learning with a high sense of moral and intellectual integrity. Undergraduate students are required to take 45 units of RGEP subjects of their own choice from the three domains: Social Sciences and Philosophy, Arts and Humanities, and Math, Science & Technology.
